SP Bacteriostatic water by SP Laboratories is needed to dilute sports pharmacology, which comes in the form of powders. It is a sterile pyrogen-free (does not contain metabolic products of microorganisms, as a result of which the body temperature may rise) water, to which 0.9% benzyl alcohol (9 mg / ml) is added as a bacteriostatic preservative.
The use of ordinary water for injection is allowed with a single injection of the entire volume of the diluted drug, otherwise, with a multiple set of the drug from the vial, various microorganisms enter it (from the syringe needle or from the vial cap), which multiply quite quickly in a favorable environment for them , which leads to a rapid decrease in the effectiveness of the drug, as well as the entry of these microorganisms into the human body during injection, which can cause abscesses at the injection sites. The use of bactericidal water avoids all these negative phenomena.
Most often, in sports, this substance is used to dilute peptides, as well as growth hormones, gonadotropin, and other things. In addition, the pleasant price of bactericidal water makes it even more attractive for athletes.
The only time when bactericidal water cannot be used is if another solvent is indicated in the description of the drug. Otherwise, its use is absolutely harmless, especially since wounds are often washed with it.
First of all, it must be borne in mind that all drugs have different properties and composition. Due to these indicators, the dosage of bactericidal water changes. However, the subsequent shelf life of the finished solution also differs. All this varies and changes depending on the properties of the substance. Thus, one diluted peptide can be stored for up to 35 days, and the other - only 30. Therefore, it is very important to read the instructions for the drug and follow it clearly.
As for the usage scheme itself, everything is extremely simple:
If bactericidal (bacteriostatic) water is given intravenously without any diluted compound, it may cause some red blood cell lysis as it is not isotonic.
Prior to administration, parenteral medicinal products should be visually inspected for particulate matter and discoloration if solution and container permit.
