Proviron by Magnus Pharma is a hormonal drug used by bodybuilding athletes to suppress estrogenic activity during cycle use of anabolic steroids. It is also used in post cycle therapy to restore natural hormonal levels.

Proviron, also known as Mesterolone, is an oral androgen drug that has only a slight central inhibitory effect and therefore does not have a limiting effect on testicular function. Proviron compensates for the deficiency in the formation of androgens, which begins to gradually decline with age. Therefore, Proviron is suitable for the treatment of all conditions caused by insufficient formation of endogenous androgens. In the recommended therapeutic dosage, Proviron does not interfere with spermatogenesis. Proviron is particularly well tolerated by the liver.

• treatment of infertility in men. Proviron may increase sperm count and motility in some men with low sperm counts or poor sperm motility;
• treatment of female infertility caused by insufficient ovarian function. Proviron can increase the level of estrogen in the blood and increase the chance of ovulation;
• treatment of breast cancer in women. Proviron may be used in combination with other medicines to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women;
• treatment of Leydig's disease, which causes low testosterone levels in men;
• treatment of delayed puberty in boys;
• Proviron may also be used to treat other conditions such as dysmenorrhea, menopausal disorders, and bone diseases such as osteoporosis.

How does Proviron work?

The main active component of Proviron - Mesterolone - does not convert into estrogens, and it does not have flavoring properties. Instead, it blocks estrogens by competing with them to bind to receptors in tissues, which can help lower estrogen levels in the body.

Application and dosage of Proviron

Proviron is often taken before competitions - the use of this drug gives the muscles volume, rigidity and relief - the muscle mass becomes drier and of better quality. Athletes also use Proviron during courses of anabolics with a low androgenic effect (for example, Nandrolone or Trenbolone). These anabolics have such a side effect as the suppression of the natural activity of testosterone, and Proviron restores hormonal balance.

The optimal daily amount of Proviron for men is 50 mg. This dose is divided into two doses - the drug is used after meals, without chewing and drinking water.

Proviron is usually taken from the second week after the start of anabolic cycles of Nandrolone, Trenbolone and other steroids with high aromatization and low androgenic effect.

Athletes, who naturally have higher levels of estrogen, often add Proviron to steroids, which is manifested in increased muscle density.

It used to be common among professional bodybuilders to take 25 mg daily for several weeks, i.e. one 25 mg tablet a day, sometimes for months, to look lean for a whole year. This is especially important in relation to performances and filming. Today, Clenbuterol is most often taken for a whole year, because it does not cause virilization phenomena that are possible with Proviron. Because Proviron is very effective, 50 mg per day is enough for men. This means that the athlete swallows one 25 mg tablet in the morning, another of the same in the evening. In some cases, one such tablet is enough.

When Proviron is combined with Tamoxifen (Proviron 50mg per day and Nolvadex 20mg per day), almost complete estrogen suppression occurs. Even better results are obtained with 50 mg of Proviron per day and 500 - 1000 mg of Fludestrin per day. But since Fludestrin is an extremely expensive drug, most athletes do not even stutter about this combination.

Side effects and contraindications

• increased blood pressure;
• headache;
• digestive disorders such as nausea, vomiting or diarrhea;
• allergic reactions such as pruritus, hives or anaphylaxis;
• liver dysfunction;
• increase in the level of "bad" cholesterol in the blood;
• decrease in the level of "good" cholesterol in the blood.

Contraindications to the use of Proviron include:

• allergy to mesterolone or any other component that is part of the drug;
• prostate or breast cancer;
• kidney failure;
• erythema (lupus erythematosus);
• prostatitis;
• pregnancy and breastfeeding period;
• individual intolerance to the drug.

In post-cycle therapy, Proviron is sometimes combined with Clomid to quickly restore natural hormonal activity. In optimal doses, the drug is practically harmless. In case of overdose, it can adversely affect the function of the prostate gland.

What other drugs will affect Proviron

With the simultaneous use of Proviron with some other drugs, interactions may occur, as a result of which the effectiveness of Proviron may change. Some drugs that may affect Proviron include:

• anticoagulants such as warfarin, since Proviron may increase their effect;
• insulin, since Proviron can increase blood sugar levels and enhance the action of insulin;
• glucocorticosteroids, such as prednisolone, since Proviron can enhance their effect;
• thyroid hormones such as levothyroxine, as Proviron may decrease their effectiveness
• drugs containing estrogen, such as contraceptives, since Proviron may reduce their effectiveness;
• preparations containing testosterone, since Proviron can enhance their effect;
• preparations containing cyclosporine, such as some immunosuppressants, as Proviron may increase their blood levels.
