    Citomed (Liothyronine, T3) from Balkan Pharmaceuticals is one of the most common drugs for weight loss and body drying. This drug gained its popularity due to the presence at one time of all the necessary certificates in order to be sold legally.

    Cytamed is not a steroid drug per se, but rather acts as a synthetic thyroid hormone. Thus, it is not at all classified as anabolic. The drug is characterized by rapid absorption in the body and high efficiency in the first days of administration.

    Effects of taking Cytomed

    1. acceleration of metabolism;
    2. improved body heat production;
    3. fat burning;
    4. appetite suppression;
    5. reduced need for sleep;
    6. improvement of physical performance;
    7. stimulating effect on the central nervous system.

    Medical indications for taking Cytomed

    Used to treat various thyroid disorders. Medical indications for taking liothyronine include:

    • hypothyroidism: Liothyronine is used to replace or supplement thyroid hormones in patients with hypothyroidism, which is characterized by insufficient thyroid function and a decrease in the level of hormones (such as thyroxine - T4 and triiodothyronine - T3) in the body;
    • thyrotoxicosis: In some cases, when the use of antithyroid drugs or radioactive iodine is not effective, liothyronine can be used to reduce thyroid hormone levels in patients with thyrotoxicosis (excess thyroid hormone);
    • suppression of thyroglobulin: In rare cases, liothyronine may be used to suppress thyroglobulin levels in patients after thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine for the treatment of thyroid cancer.

    Application and dosage of Cytomed

    If you are taking Cytomed, then remember that its dosage must be increased very slowly.. Usually, 0.5 tablets of 25 micrograms are taken on the first day, then the dosage is increased by taking one tablet every 3 or 4 days, leading up to a maximum dosage of 100 micrograms. This mode will allow the body to adapt to the increased level of thyroid hormones and avoid breakdowns. The daily dose should also be distributed evenly throughout the day in order to evenly maintain the level of hormones in the blood.

    Women are more sensitive to the side effects of Cytomed than men and therefore do not take more than 50 micrograms per day.

    It is important to note that the full cycle should not exceed 6 weeks and should not be interrupted abruptly. The dosage should be reduced as slowly (by 0.5 tablets every 3-4 days) as it increased. If you take Citomed for a long time and / or in large quantities, then all this can lead to the development of thyroid dysfunction. As a result, the patient will have to take throughout life. Therefore, before taking the drug, consult with a specialist and undergo an examination of your thyroid gland.

    If you do not detect hyperthyroidism in time, then taking additional hormones will not lead to anything good. Also, never buy this drug for injection. This form of release is intended for emergencies and is very strong for athletes. Since T3 is one of the most powerful hormones used by athletes, it should not be used by beginner athletes.

    Side effects

    • A significant effect on the body is associated with the possibility of various negative side effects. The instructions for the remedy describe in detail all the likely cases, indicating how to proceed in each case. The manifestation is not excluded:
    • tachycardia and hypertension. For prevention, an adrenergic blocker metoprolol is taken, the dosage of which is regulated based on the pulse rate and blood pressure level, which should not rise higher than 140/90;
    • heaviness in the region of the heart. When symptoms appear, take asparkam after meals. The potassium and magnesium contained in it will help restore the heart rhythm. Additionally, you can resort to the use of riboxin to replenish the energy of the myocardium;
    • diarrhea, to cope with which loperamide will help;
    • insomnia;
    • allergic rash;
    • increased sweating;
    • heat;
    • muscle tremor.

    The normal functioning of the thyroid gland will be restored within three to four weeks.

    What other drugs will affect Cytomed

    Some drugs can increase or decrease triiodothyronine levels in the body, or interact with its action. The following are some drugs that may affect Liothyronine:

    • Thyroid drugs (levothyroxine, etc.): Taking liothyronine along with other thyroid drugs, such as levothyroxine (thyroxine), can increase the effects of thyroid hormones and cause thyrotoxicosis (elevated levels of thyroid hormones). The doctor should carefully control the dosage and combination of these drugs.
    • Antidepressants: Some antidepressants, such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and SNRIs, can interfere with thyroid hormone metabolism and affect triiodothyronine levels. This may require an adjustment in the dosage of liothyronine.
    • Iron supplements: Taking iron supplements can reduce the absorption of triiodothyronine from the gastrointestinal tract, making it less effective. Liothyronine should be taken with caution when taking iron supplements concomitantly.
    • Anticoagulants (anticoagulants): Liothyronine may affect blood clotting and increase the effect of anticoagulants such as warfarin. This may require careful monitoring of blood clotting levels and adjustment of the anticoagulant dose.
    • Beta-blockers: Some beta-blockers can slow metabolism and affect the metabolism of thyroid hormones, which may require adjustment of the dosage of liothyronine.
