Trenbolone is an incredibly powerful anabolic steroid that bodybuilders use to gain muscle mass and burn fat at the same time.

Some people say that Trenbolone is not worth it because of the strong side effects - it is one of the most toxic compounds a person can take (physiologically and psychologically). However, others argue that Tren's side effects are exaggerated and not much worse than other anabolics.

First of all, it is important to understand that each person reacts differently to Trenbolone depending on their genetic code, which makes them more or less prone to certain side effects.

However, below are the main pros and cons commonly encountered by an athlete taking Trenbolone.

Incredible strength

The effect of Trenbolone on strength is truly exceptional, especially because it does not aromatize or cause water retention.

Almost every competitive powerlifter will use Trenbolone in their pre-competition stack. Athletes who have relatively recently started taking anabolic steroids can add almost 45 kg in the bench press on Trenbolone - within the first month of the course.

This is definitely a positive thing, however, bodybuilders should be careful about overtraining during the first few Trenbolone cycles to give the muscles/tendons time to adapt. Otherwise, the rapid increase in strength will make the body more susceptible to injury.

This is due to an increase in blood pressure, which indicates a decrease in blood flow to the heart; thus, a deeper breath is required to increase the supply of oxygen.

Trenbolone will most likely shorten an athlete's patience due to its stimulating effect. It's just that with an increased heart rate and high adrenaline levels, it is more difficult to remain calm.

For many, Trenbolone is an emotional rollercoaster, with mood swings clocked in.

Photoshopped look

If a person was already thin prior to starting a Tren cycle, they will start to look photoshopped due to a combination of the following factors:

  • lowering the water level;
  • full muscles;
  • increased vascularity;
  • an increase in the size of the trapezius and deltoid muscles.

The trapezius and deltoid muscles are more susceptible to hypertrophy when taking Tren because they have higher androgen receptors; therefore, they respond particularly well to androgenic steroids.

A marked decrease in the amount of extracellular water can make a lean person look significantly more defined. However, a person with a lot of body fat may not notice an increase in muscle definition just by reducing the amount of water.

Bodybuilders on the cycle have even reported occasional bouts of depression. This may occur due to infrequent injections, that is, during the period when the level of testosterone in the blood serum decreases (just before taking a new dose).

After the end of the cycle, a decrease in testosterone levels can cause lethargy and decreased sexual function (as well as depression). These side effects can last for weeks or months, which is why bodybuilders usually opt for aggressive PCT (Post Cycle Therapy).


You can't definitively know what to expect from taking Tren until you've injected it, as people have different experiences based on their genetics.

One person may develop hypertension after several cycles, while another may have a normal blood pressure.

It is also worth noting that negative side effects of the drug are more likely at high dosages (greater than 400 mg/week).

Thus, a good rule of thumb when cycling powerful steroids like Trenbolone is "less is more"; in fact, there is a cut-off point of diminishing returns above a certain dose (probably 300 mg/week).

In addition, almost every Trenbolone product is different, depending on the manufacturer and their skill in creating a pure product.
